DC shoes Josh Kalis white / grey leather

It doesn’t feel like a decade ago that Josh Kalis had his first pro shoe on DC shoes, but i i just realised that it pretty much is! time flies that’s for sure and DC as a once humble skate shoe brand have come along way. Producing quality skate shoes just wasn’t enough and so with the help of a mega ramp, a large wall, excellent snowboard and surf teams and the MTN LAB, they are now a house hold name.

Kalis is one of my all time favourite skateboards and still in my opion holds the title for most stylish tre flip, and that is one hell of a claim. Kalis has been with DC shoes a long time and this his 7th shoe on the brand is well deserved. The DC Kalis is featured here in white grey leather this shoe comes in around £60.00 and has all the tech features you’d expect from a DC shoe:

Due for release @ Supreme on the 19th March, here we have the latest Vans x Supreme collaberation. The are two vans styles the Vans Authentic and the classic Vans Half cab. The shoes both feature canvas uppers and leather insoles and lining. The colurways have a definite 80′s feel and we love all the colour options. Both the Vans Authentic and Half cab are available in green, red black and white with a really nice speckle texture to the upper.

Another banger from Supreme and Vans, available in store in the US from the 19th of march and in Japan later this month.

New from Nixon watches is a unique twist on the most popular style in their quiver, the Nixon Player rubberised “4 x 4″. This is a limited edition project that will span the next four months with a new colourway in the Player rubberised released each month. Featured here is the March release, this new look gives the Nixon Player a really interesting and refreshing update on the now veteran style. We look forwrad to seeing the subsiquent colours which are scheduled for release on the 15th of each month through till June.

Each store will be limited to only four of each colour, running with the 4 x 4 theme, and so these watches won’t be on the shelves for long! This first in the edition of the four colours is out today, and we’ll keep you updated on the next release as they come.

LA based artist Simone Legno founder of Tokidoki has come together with Headphone brand Skullcandy to bring us some fresh products for 09. Tokidoki have got their hands on two different Skullcandy headphone styles, the Gi and smoking bud earbud, which they have coloured up with Tokitoki‘s ever original and vibrant styling. These Headphones will appear in the Skullcandy 09 core only range and should be available from all good stockists around April.

It feels like summer is really trying hard to push spring into getting on with it now that march is in full swing. Don’t tell that to the inhabitants of south west England though they’d never believe you!

Along with spring comes the fresh product and it’s our job to keep you up to date on the hottest stuff out there! DC shoe co have been heavily involved in snowboarding for years now, so it was inevitable that with the success of DC shoes’ Snow boot and outer wear lines and not to meantion the infamous DC Mountain Lab DVD’s, that DC would eventually launch DC snowboards. This winter saw the release of their first season to limited stockists world wide, compramising of 4 different models the HKD, MLF, XFB, and PJB with Devun Walsh and Ikka Backstrom pro models. The DC snowboard line is tight but comrehensive in the sense it offers something what ever your prefence, whether it be pipe, piste, park or mountain.

Just announced by Rome snowboards, for the coming 2009-2010 season, the Rome SDS is expanding the idea behind the Artifact SK (Shop Kid) snowboard that it has made for the last two years. It’s taking the one SK board and turning it into an entire SK Collection. And this time, the shop kids will be doing the graphic design.

In 2009, for the second annual Artifact SK, Rome collected base graphic ideas from riders who work in shops to replace the “Live Nude Girls” on the inline Artifact board. In the end, they were unable to decide on just one winner so they picked the two most “appropriate” inappropriate ideas that got emailed in.

For 2010, Rome is expanding the SK concept to create the SK Collection:

1. Rome is adding a snowboard boot (Libertine) and a glove (Movement) to go with the Artifact SK snowboard to create a collection of SK product.

2. Rome is giving shop kids more control over the collection and letting them create the art, colors and materials for the graphics of each of the models.

3. The winners of the board, boot and glove categories win $$ and two free models of the product they designed.

4. As in the past two years with the Artifact SK board, the SK Collection will be available only to riders who work in shops through Rome’s Operative Program.

If you work in a shop and want to design art for the SK Collection, go to www.romesnowboards.com/skcontest to download the design templates and entry forms, and learn about all the details of the contest.

All art needs to be submitted to Rome by March 31st, 2009. Once Rome receives the art, Rome riders and artists will pick one winning design for each of the products. The winners will work with Rome designers to finalize the art. So, what are you waiting for, get scribbling!

New for spring 2009 DC shoes unveil the Bruce Irons signature sandal! Bruce Irons is the first pro surfer on DC to get a signature sandal and according to DC it was “built from the ground up specifically for bruce”. Being the longest standing surf pro on DC shoes bruce irons is definitely the right choice for DC’s first pro sandal. The sandal features a tough rubber outsole with stamp hawaiian islands graphic on the bottom. Also, the foot bed is anatomically correct to fit your foot better and wear more comfortably. Available in three colours black, grey and brown, and should be hitting all good board sports shops this spring!

Nowadays there are so many cross company colabs going on that it’s hard sometimes to know whether collaborations are over done and we should all just move on. however, there is a difference, there are collaborations just for collaborations sake and then there are collaborations that are two like minded brands and people coming together to work on something that is not only creative and original but actually works in a commercial sense.

The recent offering for 686 snowboard outerwear and Kr3w clothing is definitely the later! 5 pieces which include two pants (the Slim and Knuckle) and three snowboard jackets (the Klutch, K5 and Lumberjack). The whole collection works really well, both tech snowboard pants going back to the “denim look” something which seemed to be a bit of a flash in the pan but is making a resurgence. The lumberjack snowboard jacket jumping in on the plaid craze, however, this print looks like one of the better plaid offerings we’ve seen. The K65 snowboard jacket offers a less traditional military look, while the klutch snowboard jacket uses a fairly standard technical jacket silhouette but with a really cool and bright all over print.

To sum it up, we love this collaboration as it seems to breath some fresh air and represent new boundaries for both brands whether it be in either the skate or snow arena! Available September 2009 means a long wait but definitely worth it.
